Central Park in the fall is ablaze with color and for a photographer named Mousa, his camera provides a canvas and his eyes place the color in proportion to produce portraits of nature. Mousa, a former Egyptian journalist now exiled in New York, is an artist who simply allows nature to "unconceal" itself. His visual adventure have led him to photographic treasures from Scandinavia to the Caribbean.
Mousa, a man with a magical smile and a humble spirit, moved slowly around The New Art Center, at the opening reception of his 18-piece solo exhibit. Basking in the appreciation of his work he simultaneously engaged in discussions about how his photographs made viewers feel. Now in the autumn of his life journey Mousa says looks for opportunities to be a witness to nature's exceptional secrets.
One of his most amazing photos is a duo between a humming bird and a butterfly sharing the pleasure of a floral feast of nectar. Mousa, who began taking photographs as a teenager in his native country, has found his artistic inspiration not only in New York but in Aruba, where he lives in his time-share during the winter months. "It's hot like Egypt," he says gleefully. His exhibit runs through November 27th.
